The Hellenic National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Hellas), in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Heraklion, organized a thematic event entitled “Modern Technologies in Agricultural Production: Digital Tools for the Agriculture of the Future,” which took place on Wednesday, 19th of November, at the Messara Agricultural School, at the School of Higher Vocational Training (SAEK) of the Regional Unit of Heraklion.
The event was held under the auspices of the Region of Crete, the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), and ELGO–DIMITRA, with the support of MACC – Mediterranean Agrifood Competence Center, RVS Afoi Simiaki OE, and Elli’s Farm.
The aim of the initiative was to highlight contemporary technological developments in the agri-food sector, to present applied digital transformation approaches in crop and livestock production, and to systematically inform participants about education and vocational training opportunities in the primary sector.
The scientific coordinator of the LIFE IGIC project, Dr. Emmanouil Kampourakis, participated as a keynote speaker in the thematic session entitled: “Digital Tools for the Optimal Harvest Timing of Olives and Olive Orchard Biodiversity”.
