LIFE IGIC was presented at the Organoleptic Laboratory of Crete ACR, in a seminar focused on organoleptic characteristics and best farming practices to produce high-quality olive oil.

The Sensory Evaluation Laboratory of Crete ACR (Οργανοληπτικό Εργαστήριο Κρήτης ΑΣΡ) successfully organised a hybrid seminar from July 5th to 6th, 2025, focusing on organoleptic characteristics of olive oil and best farming practices for producing high-quality olive oil with added ecological value.

The coordinator of the project, Dr. Emmanouil Kabourakis, presented the LIFE IGIC project’s aims, results, and key outcomes, highlighting the importance of green infrastructure, including agroecological farming practices, for the sustainability of olive orchards.

Participants gained valuable insights regarding the importance of applying green infrastructure, particularly within the context of organic olive oil production. The seminar emphasised the importance of Green Infrastructure in olive orchards in the face of climate change and growing global competition.
