The Life IGIC project was presented at the 15th International Congress on the Zoogeography and Ecology of Greece and Adjacent Regions (ICZEGAR), held at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, Greece, from July 3 to 6, 2025.
An oral presentation was given with the title: “Ant (Formicidae) diversity of olive orchard agroecosystems in relation to the management and the effect of agroecological zone’’. In the talk, the project was presented to the audience, along with results regarding the ant diversity in the project’s organic orchards, which applied Green Infrastructure, and in conventional orchards, in two agroecological zones. Moreover, the importance of ant diversity for providing agroecosystem services was highlighted.
In addition, a poster presentation was given with the title: “Carabid beetle diversity in olive orchards in relation to the management and the agroecological zone”. At the poster, results regarding the functional diversity of the beneficial beetle taxa, Carabidae, in olive orchards applied green infrastructure of the LIFE IGIC project, were presented.
