The “LIFE IGIC” project was presented at the seminar:
• “Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Crete, Kriti: The green gold of our island” that was organised by the Περιφέρεια Κρήτης / Region of Crete on Monday 20th November at the Επιμελητήριο Ηρακλείου – Heraklion Chamber, Heraklion, Crete and on Tuesday 5th December 2023 at the Cultural Centre of Chania (Πνευματικό Κέντρο Χανίων), Chania, Crete to celebrate the World Olive Day.
The project coordinator Emmanouil Kambourakis also presented the project at the seminar with the title:
• ‘Safeguarding the high quality of the Cretan olive oil” that was organised by the «Association of Cretan Olive Oil Packagers (Σύνδεσμος Τυποποιητών Ελαιολάδου Κρήτης ΣΥΤΕΚ), the «Greek National Olive Oil Association” (ΕΔΟΕ) and the “Association of Greek Olive Oil Industries (ΣΕΒΙΤΕΛ / SEVITEL” on Sunday 5th November 2023 at Heraklion, Crete.
The talks highlighted the importance of Green Infrastructure development, sustainable farming practices implementation and fruit harvesting time, for the achievement of an environmentally sustainable oliviculture and for the production of high quality olive products, free of contaminants, in Crete, Greece.
